This will set the lesson up to load and use the remote carpentries theme, outsourcing layout, styling etc to https://github.com/carpentries/carpentries-theme

The main changes are:

adding a line to _config.yml, pointing towards that remote theme
simplifying the Gemfile to reflect the adoption of the remote theme
some minor changes to local builds etc in the Makefile


          use remote theme
