constructor question

for lesson 3 FundMe.sol,

    using SafeMathChainlink for uint256; //what this will do is it will use safemath chainlink for all of our uint256 and safemath chainlink doesnt allow for that overflow to occur

    address public owner;
    //a constructor is a function that gets called the instant your contract gets deployed. we use a constructor for becoming the owner of this contract

        owner = msg.sender;  //owner is going to be us, whoever deploys this contract
    }

Why use a constructor and not define owner = msg.sender without a constructor?

@rishigarg256 When you will deploy the contract the first thing that will be called is the constructor, and whoever deploys the contract, the deployer address will be set as the owner. msg.sender will be the deployer address.

@rishigarg256 Then you need to hardcode the address of the owner, you cannot set it dynamically.

Like this: address owner = 0x12321312...

i am also confused as to what is meant by the owner and how is the owner the person sending money to the contract?

@rishigarg256 owner of the contract should be the person who is deploying the contract.

but isnt setting owner = msg.sender means that we are making that person the owner who is funding the contract?

@rishigarg256 See if you add it inside the constructor, then the address that will be used when deploying the contract will be set as the owner address.

If you add it inside any other function then anybody can call that function and every time the owner's address will change(YOU SHOULD NEVER DO THIS).
