As a follow up to the Website meeting we had last Sunday: I had a bit of time on my hand and played around with Zola: Here's a proposal page that can be discussed if of interest:

I'm deploying this currently to my fork of rust-embedded-www and put a banner on top so that it should be clear that this is not the official REWG page...

Pages / Menu:

• Home: Taken directly from what what we put together last Sunday as the start page text
• Bookshelf: Copied over the bookshelf and FAQ (linked therein) from the docs page. ToC is auto generated.
  • We could host the bookshelf in the website repo instead of its own and do a fwd for docs.rust-embedded.org to this page, or
  • Just put a link to the current docs.rust-embedded.org on this page instead of the content
• Blog: Copied all blog posts over and serving the in the Blog section. Same idea for keep/just link as for bookshelf.
• Showcase: Linked to the actual showcase.

The hyde template that is used for the blog currently is a very simple blog theme and I couldn't easily add static pages (the front page, sub pages, ...). It's laid out for a blog and not much else. Thus I decided to used the Zola bearblog theme, which is a fast-loading, minimal, design that looks also good on mobile.

Anyway, this is a rough idea, I'd be curious to hear what you think, if this is a possibility, and if so, what needs edits, changes. Deploying it in my own fork for the moment at least allows everybody to look at the proposal in the deployed state I thought.

That reminds me, it turns out that Github Markdown already adds anchor ids to section headers that can be linked to in HTML and Github Markdown (#anchor). The bookshelf redirect could point directly to the bookshelf section. We could add a table of contents to the front page, though the page is short enough that probably not needed maybe idk.

Unfortunately I won't be able to join the meeting tonight (it's my daughter's xmas play...). Will however check the minutes. Happy to implement changes if this would be a valuable way forward. I'll check in tomorrow, thanks!

I’ve proposed to remove atomic support from armv4t-none-eabi and friends. Thoughts or dissenting opinions welcome.

#289 → It's common practice now to reject PRs with fmt errors by CI. Do we still need this RFC?

This is a thing: rust-embedded/book#375 . Apparently you can get exponentially-sized futures on a bad day. Anyone want to help figure out what goes in the book here?
