Flashing uboot

Build a U-Boot package and install it on a running system

sudo dpkg -i *.deb
sudo /lib/u-boot/flash*

Manually flash / update U-Boot

• Allwinner

sudo dd if=u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin of=/dev/mmcblkX conv=fsync bs=1024 seek=8

• Amlogic

eMMC:
sudo dd if=u-boot.bin of=/dev/mmcblkX bs=512 seek=1

SDCARD:
sudo dd if=u-boot.bin.sd.bin of=/dev/mmcblkX conv=fsync bs=1 count=442
sudo dd if=u-boot.bin.sd.bin of=/dev/mmcblkX conv=fsync bs=512 skip=1 seek=1

• Rockchip

sudo dd if=idbloader.bin of=/dev/mmcblkX seek=64
sudo dd if=u-boot.itb of=/dev/mmcblkX seek=16384

Note

In some cases this can change the PARTUUID. So it is good practice to check that the PARTUUID matches what is in the extlinux.conf file.

grep -w "PARTUUID" /boot/ext*/ext*
sudo blkid | grep -w "PARTUUID"
