The package minimises the costs of supplying electricity and other energy carriers at each point in time and space for China. This is done under user-constraints, such as a carbon budget.

Who is the target audience and what are the scientific applications of this package?
The audience is the energy system modeling community. Focus application is investigating challenges associated with decarbonising of the Chinese energy system. -
Are there other Python packages that accomplish similar things? If so, how does yours differ?
PyPSA-earth is similar but is not China specific. This code is developed especially for China, comes with data and has several essential updates to improve realism for China. -
Any other questions or issues we should be aware of:
The code is not a python package but a workflow, automated using snakemake. I wanted to know whether it would be considered by pyOpenSci
