Description

I have an octane app running inside a docker container and use a bind mount for the application code. When editing files, fs events are not sent across the bind mount to the container, so the watcher does not detect them. I have the same issue reported in #487. There is also an open issue on the frankenphp repository php/frankenphp#1616.

A potential solution would be to add an option to octane:frankenphp, like --chokidar to use chokidar instead of frankenphp's watcher.

Switching to FrankenPHP's built in watcher broke things for me in my containerized Ubuntu dev environment too. I only had a couple of apps using FrankenPHP - I switched them all to Swoole to solve the problem.

Using FrankenPHP's built in watcher should be opt-in. Chokidar is much less opinionated and works in a lot more environments.

@rty765 hai. i found temporary solution
by set --max-requests=1 for windows -> docker dekstop

i was try set --watch --poll but still not work

max-requests=1 actualy is not recomand for prod server
if prod using linux then set default max-requests=500 or higher for better performance

now im using windows for development only

It would also be possible to just fall back to chokidar if --poll is passed.
