Chart Metrics

The metric types provided are quite useful for the vast majority uses, however I was wondering if there is anything on the roadmap for other types of charts.

I am specifically looking for metric types for bar charts, and line graphs (just 1d and 2d). If anyone has pointers for how I could build something custom that would be great.
