It appears this repo was deleted https://github.com/jepler/circuitPython_dotstar_featherwing.git. this causes git submodule update to fail.

Removing the submodule to it resolves that issue.

It seems like the functionality may have ended up in an adafruit library here: https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_CircuitPython_FeatherWing/blob/main/adafruit_featherwing/dotstar_featherwing.py

@jepler was the circuitpython_dotstar_featherwing repo deleted intentionally? If so, do you know if the helper class in adafruit_featherwing covers the same functionality?

uh oh. I was deleting forks of Adafruit stuff within my own github account and that included this one.

#216 has the reasons for this change.

I will re-fork the repo into my github user and put the main branch back where it was. and try not to delete it this time.

I would be happy to transfer this repo into the adafruit or circuitpython organization, as I don't intend to maintain it.

I think moving it to circuitpython org sounds good, I'm in the process of moving the libraries there into the community bundle anyhow so it will have company there.

I've requested to transfer the repo to your personal account @FoamyGuy and then you can transfer it into the correct organization. sorry for the trouble!

Sounds good, Thank you! I'll get it moved.

Closing this PR, I'll submit a seperate PR that changes the submodule to it's new repo once that is up.
