What’s New

Added a JavaScript snippet IncidentTrendAnalyzer.js that calculates and compares incident counts between the current and previous week using GlideAggregate.

Use Case for servicenow devs

This helps ServiceNow developers or admins:

  • Monitor trends in ticket volume.
  • Detect spikes or drops automatically.
  • Schedule weekly trend analysis via Scheduled Script Execution.

Example Output

  • Incident count increased by 12 compared to last week.
  • Incident count decreased by 8 compared to last week.
  • No change in incident volume week-over-week.

The Incident Trend Analyzer helps ServiceNow admins automatically compare weekly incident volumes using GlideAggregate.
It highlights spikes or drops in tickets for proactive monitoring and workload balancing.
The key logic is in the comparison line:
var diff = thisWeekCount - lastWeekCount;

This looks good to me.
However, note that this is available OOB with platform analytics indicators. You don't have to write a script for this requirement.
